Basic Operating Principles of the Cab Tilt Pump

The operating principle of the cab tilt pump is as follows: Phase 1 (Suction Phase)—The pump’s operating lever, acting through a transmission shaft and cam mechanism, drives the manual plunger to slide upward. This action increases the volume within the chamber formed between the plunger and the pump cover, creating a negative pressure (vacuum). Under the influence of atmospheric pressure, hydraulic fluid from the pump’s reservoir flows through a one-way valve located at the base of the plunger and enters the plunger chamber. Simultaneously, the one-way valve situated on the directional control valve closes—actuated by the combined effects of the negative pressure within the plunger chamber and the valve’s internal spring—thereby preventing the backflow of hydraulic fluid from the oil line.

Phase 2 (Pressurization Phase)—The pump’s operating lever, again acting through the transmission shaft and cam mechanism, drives the manual plunger to slide downward. This action reduces the volume within the chamber between the plunger and the pump cover; as the plunger compresses the hydraulic fluid, pressure is generated. Consequently, the one-way valve at the base of the plunger closes, actuated by the fluid pressure and the weight of its internal steel ball. Simultaneously, the one-way valve on the directional control valve opens; this occurs because the rising fluid pressure within the plunger chamber generates a force on the valve’s steel ball that exceeds the opposing force of the spring. Due to the presence of a load (resistance) at the outlet, the pressure at the discharge port rises. The magnitude of the outlet pressure generated by the cab tilt pump is determined by the size of the load being lifted. By continuously repeating these two phases, the cab tilt pump generates a steady, continuous flow of high-pressure hydraulic fluid. Furthermore, the manual cab tilt pump is equipped with a directional control valve—featuring distinct functional modes—that allows for the redirection of the high-pressure fluid flow, thereby enabling the raising and lowering of the cab lift cylinder.

 

What is the working principle of a cab hydraulic cylinder?

A cab hydraulic cylinder is an actuator that converts fluid pressure into mechanical energy to generate oscillating motion. It features a very simple structure and offers highly reliable performance in practical applications. When utilized to execute reciprocating movements, it helps mitigate the stresses associated with high-speed machine operation and operates without any mechanical backlash. Consequently, hydraulic cylinders are widely employed as essential components within the hydraulic systems of industrial machinery.

Generally speaking, cab hydraulic cylinders are categorized into four main types based on their operation: piston-type, plunger-type, telescopic-type, and rotary-type. Among these, the piston-type is the most frequently utilized. The working principle of the piston-type cylinder involves a piston moving within a fixed steel cylinder. This mode of operation is inherently stable and poses no adverse risks to industrial production processes. Provided that the system pressure remains constant, the reciprocating motion of the piston ensures the smooth and normal operation of the machinery, while maintaining a balanced and stable relationship between the generated force and velocity.
